I’m going to cut distractions out of my life and accomplish the things I set out to do if it’s the last thing I do!

I said I’d write everyday this week, well here’s day two. I had an interesting day of driving. I decided that I’m going to do a dopamine detox this week by cutting out pretty much everything that causes distractions and would prevent me from achieving this goal I’ve set for myself.

This includes but not limited to, social media, video games, T.V, soda, candy, alcohol, and everything else I can think of that’s a distraction. So far I feel like I’ve done pretty well, I did have an energy drink today due to my early morning, and the eight hour drive I had to my destination…Oh I forgot to mention. In doing this experiment I drove to Denver so I could get away from any temptation and am staying at an Airbnb. On the drive I did listen to a podcast to not have music on and limit that dopamine trigger. I ended up listening to the Huberman Lab podcast.

In this podcast Dr. Andrew Huberman who is a Professor of Neurobiology and Ophthalmology at Stanford University School of Medicine discusses neuroscience and how our brain and its connections with the organs of our body controls our perceptions, our behaviors, and our health. I feel like there is a lot of good information provided, and during this week I’ll try to put some into practice.

Day one I feel was a success, I’m glad to have my supportive wife with me who agreed to follow along on this journey I’ve decided to take. Without her support, I have no idea if I’d even be able to accomplish such a feat.

Oh Hi! I write stuff about my struggles with ADHD and procrastinating, and what ever really comes to mind at the time.
